Last week I decided to try Simply Recipes’ Caramel Apples with the help of my kids. Not only was this a great family project, it turned into a lesson on nutrition. With each ingredient that we added to the pot, the kids’ faces showed more and more shock. They could not believe how much sugar and fat is used to make one of their favorite treats. Needless to say, it took a little begging on my part to get them to enjoy the fruit of their labor. 🙂 But enjoy it they did!
